Glen Murray apologizes for telling the truth. . . .

So this is what it has come to. MPP Glen Murray is compelled to apologize for telling the very simple, straightforward truth.

His exact words were "Ford, Hudak, and Harper - the trifecta of Republican-style, right-wing ignorance and bigotry."

Well the milquetoast Premier Dalton Mcquinty can make his cabinet ministers apologize but he has no such power over the rest of us. So let us say it in certain and uniquivical terms -

Ford, Hudak and Harper do in fact represent the Canadian version of Republican-style right-wing ignorance and bigotry. And anyone who doubts it would themselves have to be irretrievably ignorant.

Actually, those weren't Murray's exact words - he re-tweeted a comment made by krwillmott. It was a total brain-fart move on Murray's part. Doesn't matter if he agrees with the statement, as a Minister, he should be more discreet.

Thanks RC, Indeed discretion is the better part of valor in politics but one cannot help but be rankled by the increasingly offensive and frightening nature of the Karl Rove politics that is creeping into our culture, and it is going unchallenged by lion's share of people in the mainstream.

yes, they were my words. I'm quite proud of the comment. im surprised at the reaction however.

Thank You Krwillmont - I thought they were straightforward and right on the money. They idea that anyone should apologize to people who are explicitly bigoted is absurd. If they don't like being called bigoted they should change their position. Would they have asked us in the 1930s to apologize for contemning the Nazis for being racists.
