I think the Vikileaks attack on Vic Toews is the best news-story to emerge over the last year. I say we as Canadians should expose every single detail of the lives of the disgusting tyrants of the CPC. They are profound hypocrites who have no interest in liberty or public safety, they are just another 'big-brother,' rightwing government who wants to destroy democracy, and freedom in order to turn the population into an obedient, corporate workforce. As far as I am concerned we should use any means necessary to expose them for what they are and if that means exposing the hypocrisies of their private lives, then so be it!
And, in case anyone still needs a demonstration of the Harpercon's hypocrisy just listen to the deplorable, soulless, pontificating, windbag that is John Baird. He has the gall to condemn what he calls "dirty tricks" of others!!! These guys brought the poisonous negativity of politics to new levels, they are the party personification of dirty tricks and nastiness, and those who live by the sword will, in this case, surely die by the sword.

The Harper Party is getting a taste of its own medicine, Kirby.
It should come as no surprise that they can dish it out, but they can't take it.
I'm surprised at the number of progressive bloggers saying, oh no, personal life is out of bounds, and admonishing Vikileaks. And to a certain extent, ordinary marriage stuff need not make headlines. But, a guy who will schtup a babysitter 30+ years his junior, a sort of employee really, and get her pregnant, that falls well out of the arena of ordinary into what seems pretty much exploitative behavior. AND, all acquired without going through the garbage. Yes, absolutely, hit him with both barrels. And frankly, if the PM and his wife have ceased sharing a home and are just pretending to be married, that is news as well. Their breakup is private, but their public charade should be exposed.
I hope that John Baird gets outed! All the anti-gay rhetoric from the cpc and he is a gay!
@ Anonymous 1 - Given the ruthless attack style of this government, nothing, and I mean NOTHING, should be out of bounds when it comes to this group of tyrants. As far as I am concerned pulling punches with the Harpercons is akin to trying to play a game by the rule with someone who cheats at every opportunity - while trying to be honorable, you are going to lose every time.
@ Anonymous 2 - I still can't understand why some group like "Anonymous" doesn't out Baird. I am with Malcolm X on this one - "by any means necessary!"
Furthermore, there are many other targets in the Harpercon regime including Harper's ties to racists and the well-known question of his Wife's personal life. Go after them! They would do nothing less!
I'm absolutely with you on this one Kirby. It's no accident that these weasels so often have skeletons in their closets. It comes from the same deviant sense of entitlement that drew them to the far right in the first place. And, about Baird, yeah. Someone should take a close look at the company he keeps. Even my Conservative friends find his appetites disgusting.
Let's put them all under the spotlight. They're public figures. They're fair game.
Dear Mound - I suppose we don't agree on a great deal - but I am glad we agree on this. It is all good and well to be noble but it is hopelessly naive to let someone cheat while you play by the "rules." And there are few things that bother me more than someone who expends great effort to condemn the morality of others when their own moral choices are profoundly dubious.
I love how Toews was on CBC radio this morning doing a sort of mea culpa on his "you're with the pedophiles" statement, then only hours later a letter he wrote to his constituents is made public where he takes on the huge victim role. These clowns really have no shame. None.
Kirby: Putting policies aside, here is my take on the government presently running our country.
We have a PM who, while railing about past Lib corrupt/unethical practices, has no qualms charging Canadians for five haircuts costing almost $2K each, or charging taxpayers for the passports of his family, or reimbursing us only a small fraction of the cost of his use of the challenger jets to take him and his daughter to a hockey game in the U.S. He also has no qualms filling what he had mocked as the Unelected Senate with his cronies and failed party candidates, and cheating at election expenses. Then we have a Finance Minister who has apparently never been able to balance a budget in his life but who has no qualms mounting vicious personal attacks on others (such as PBO Page) who question his figures.
We have a Defence Min. who apparently treats the SAR helicopters and challenger jets as his personal taxi service and spends $1.5K per night for a hotel room while his government preaches austerity. Then of course we have the Babysitter Minister who fervently preached the sanctity of marriage while apparently getting it on with the teenage babysitter behind his wife's back. No need to go on ... the point is why is out of bounds to point out the personal life/behaviour traits of the Harper government? We are paying for their haircuts, hotel rooms and taxi service.
